Tom Conley (MAICD, AMICDA)
Founder & Managing Director (CEO)
Tom is a proud Indigenous person, who comes from a humble beginning and lifestyle.
Tom has a passion and conviction for Community Justice and Social Services; Community Development; Welfare Support Services; who embraces Teamwork; Leadership; Diversity; Inclusion, and Equality!
Tom has been passionate about community services since 2009 as a youth, Tom has since started five Not-for-Profit and Charitable organisations, which continue to grow and develop under his leadership to serve the greater community, which creates leaders and new opportunities.
Tom is a seasoned Not-for-Profit Charity sector Executive who has a passion and drives to empower, inspire, educate, grow, develop, assist, and lead a way for people to reach their full potential and serve their communities.
Tom's values are Honesty – Honour – Courage – Integrity – Loyalty – Trust – Belief – Equality!
Kira-Lea Dargin
Indigenous Director & Community Consultant
Kira-Lea is the new Indigenous Director and Community Consultant, she specializes in Indigenous engagement, recruitment, Indigenous procurement, and Community engagement/Liaison.
Kira-Lea's extensive networks have allowed her to develop both rewarding personal and professional networks.
Edward (Ted) Cushing (BSc, MSc)
Board Secretary & Community Consultant
Ted is a professional who joined us with a wealth of commercial, operational, and leadership expertise. He has over 20 years of successfully leading and inspiring businesses and teams in some of the largest healthcare companies in the world. Ted’s passion comes through in everything he does.
Ted’s natural ability to see complex challenges and simplify them to create on-target strategies is a boom to our organisation. His tendencies towards continuous improvement and process excellence have supported our growth and operational processes coming to life.
Ted’s purpose to inspire people to achieve more than they believed possible, helping people in need through mentoring and coaching, building resilient communities, and having a positive impact on the environment aligns well with our organisation.
This positive and aspirational attitude is infectious to those around him.
Lou Dello
Non-Executive Board Member
Lou is a semi-retired engineer, now working as a part-time consultant to the energy sector. Lou held several technical, leadership and governance roles over a 30+ year career in the sector, working in Australia, NZ, Asia and the Middle East. His most recent role was as the Chief Operating Officer with a large upstream NZ energy company, Todd Energy. He is passionate about sharing insight regarding energy security as society transitions toward a ‘net-zero carbon world’.
Lou was born in Australia to Italian parents, both of whom emigrated to Australia in the mid to late 1950s. Growing up in Australia during the late 60s, 70s and early 80s, Lou observed first-hand the effect of casual racism. Throughout his life and career, he has tried to call out these behaviours and help people understand the detriment this may cause. His childhood experiences has provided Lou with an insight to the prejudices we can still observe in modern Australia.
Lou is married with two adult children. Following extensive periods living in Japan, Abu Dhabi and NZ with his family, he now lives in Adelaide with his wife as ‘empty-nesters’ and is busy downsizing and selling the family home and building a new home, due to be completed toward the end of 2022. His other interests include supporting his wife’s art career, playing guitar, cycling, motorcycling, carpentry, gardening and watching favorite AFL team Port Adelaide. He is now also looking forward to working with NFPCCC & DCSS to help support their endeavours.
Dr Roland Padilla (MBA, MIS, PhD, FACS)
Chief Information Security Officer
Born in the Philippines, Dr Roland Padilla migrated to Australia during the height of the Global Financial Crisis. With no savings and lacking local experiences, he remained highly motivated and embraced the concept of a ‘fair go’. Roland continues to believe in contributing to a greater cause and positively impact organisations. He joined the Australian Army while he was studying for his first local degree. Since then, Roland started a new chapter in his Australian career as a uniformed member, public servant and civilian with an Australian Federal Government aimed at national security.
Roland has been a member of the Australian Computer Society (a professional organisation representing all ICT professionals in Australia), where as a Cloud Computing Convenor and Board Executive Member contributed towards state and federal government efforts. In 2016, Roland was awarded Fellow in recognition of his distinguished contributions aimed at empowering next generation of decision makers as well as his advocacy through education.
Roland has a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Information Systems from the University of Melbourne, where he graduated with First Class Honours or High Distinction and delivered the Valedictory Address during his graduation. He was a Commonwealth Scholar. Roland further did a Master of Business Administration at the Australian National University, where he graduated with Distinction and received 100% scholarship. Currently, he is studying for a part time MSc in Software and Systems Security at the University of Oxford.
Roland is a Senior Cyber Security Advisor of CISCO Systems Australia, where he delivers and contributes towards national security for an Australian Federal Government agency. He is also the CEO and Founder of AI Cyber Pty Ltd, a start-up organisation that aims to harness the potentials of artificial intelligence and cyber security to support business operations.
As a non Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Roland is still on a journey to increasingly be more aware and sensitive of respective Australian cultures and societies. He believes that his diversity may be a single thread but contributes to richer colours within this Australian social tapestry.
Pinky Alphin
Diversity & Inclusion Officer (People & Culture Team)
Pinky has worked in various roles in the HR space like Admin, Analyst, Officer and Coordinator, for over 5 years. She has been with our organisation since 2018 and has worked in everything from end-to-end recruitment and staffing, volunteer lifecycle, their well-being, management & retention, and HR operations. In a nutshell, she is an ‘HR Facilitator’.
She is passionate about assisting our organisation achieve our strategic aims by translating them into quantifiable HR goals and facilitating their successful outcome through creative recruitment and HR solutions.
One of the causes she believes in, and has been supporting since she was 15, is supporting vulnerable people- be it children, youth, adults or seniors, including the physically and intellectually challenged. In her words, it is quite a humbling and rewarding experience.
